Is Shottas based on a true story? ›

The film is the true story of two young men, Wayne (played by Spragga Benz) and Bigs (played by Marley), who grow up together in the tough and dangerous streets of Kingston. They rob a soda truck and shoot the truck's driver while still in their early teens.

The film ends in extreme violence leading to the murders of Wayne and Mad Max, in a shootout with Teddy's crew. Biggs then murders Teddy and his girlfriend, while getting away with all his money and escapes.

Their dream ends in a brazen shoot out, during which Teddy's thugs kill Wayne and shoot Max. Biggs is nearly killed as he comforts Wayne at his deathbed, but Max shoots the assailant before it happens. After taking Max to the hospital, Biggs goes to Teddy's house and murders him, his bodyguard and his girlfriend.
